Stds IX and X ICSE

The Council permits a handsome degree of freedom in the choice of subjects offered in Stds IX and X. Students may for example, drop Math and  Science and choose such alternatives as are offered by the Council. This is a decision to be taken after carefully weighing future career prospects.

Group I (Compulsory)

1. English
2. Second Languages
3. History, Civics and Geography

Group II (Any two subjects)

1. Mathematics
2. Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)

Most children opt for these two subjects. If the child has a learning difficulty or finds any one of these subjects extremely difficult, they may opt for Economics or Environmental Science.

Group III (Any one subject)

1. Physical Education
2. Art (If the child has any physical impairment in opting for Physical Education)

Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW) and Community Service – A Compulsory pass is needed to get an ICSE Pass Certificate.
